Understand control does not belong to you and you alone. A normal origination of anxiety is that numerous individuals think they have to command every aspect in their life. Although obtaining control isn't wrong, the mentality of this can eventually hurt you as some things in life just cannot be altered. Having complete authority over your life isn't a reality, and the faster you come to grips with this, the more joy will occur. You can aim high, but recognize that perfection is something seldom achieved. Rather than judging yourself so harshly, acknowledge it when you do something well. Another way perfectionism can cause stress is when you fail to complete a task at all simply because you know the result won't be perfect.
Take time for yourself. A large cause of apprehension is the turbulent lifestyle that many citizens own. 365 days a year they are on the go constantly, wearily working to buy groceries for their kids, running for the kids after school just to get them to baseball practice on time and then back to get the dinner going and on and on it goes. We forget to grab time for ourselves therefore, and aren't grateful for the truth that we are among the living. So, set an appointment with yourself at least once a week when you will simply sit back and appreciate your life. Take a bubble bath. Read a book. Talk a walk in the park and enjoy the beauty of nature. Just take a time out from your hectic schedule, even if it's for five minutes, and really look around you. Remember that life is beautiful and you will find that your stress simply melts away.
You cannot imagine a successful outcome or change in this person or situation and you spend a lot of your time "stewing" over things. It gets to the point where you can't even remember what the original problem was because you are spending all your time going over and over all the little issues. You really need to step away from the situation and relax. Replace those negative thoughts with something positive, like your future. How will you feel when this problem is resolved? Visualize in your mind what that will feel like. Bring this image into your mind as vividly as you can. What will your life look like? You have to really work at creating a realistic scenario in your mind, one in which you actually feel as if the problem has been solved. A discovery you may not be expecting is that when you relax and aren't so tense over a problem, and accept the possibility that it is solvable, it's easier to conceive a solution.
Exercise regularly. Most people avoid exercise because they think it's hard work but the fact is that there is no better form of stress relief. First of all, exercise releases endorphins into the body and it's a bit like taking a happy pill. You will feel more alive, have more energy and really feel like you can take on the world. After all, you managed to get through a grueling workout session so you can do anything you set your mind to. it's a powerful feeling. And it's also a great way to relieve your frustrations. Angry with someone but you can't externalize your feelings and tell them what you think? Take a kickboxing class and release your pent-up anger rather than bottling up and letting it eat away at you. You'll be surprised how much better you feel after a good workout.
Your feelings should be expressed, not repressed. You should be careful about bottling up your emotions if you feel stress, as this is something people often do, especially if they don't want to appear weak or vulnerable. When you do this, you risk having the stress increase because you're not dealing with it. There's nothing wrong with wanting people to like you, but you can't please everyone, no matter how hard you try. It's better to be open about your true feelings, so if someone says or does something that upsets you, don't pretend everything's okay, but let them know. A buildup of negative emotions that you pretend don't exist will only lead to even more stress, so accept the fact that you are human and that if the people around you really care about you, they will understand that you need to let off steam.
There are a multitude of possible causes for chronic stress, and it's something many people suffer from nowadays. However, as with any form of ailment, it can be treated.
