From my point of view reading about currency trading is somewhat similar to reading about driving a car without practicing it. But you can safely trade a demo account and gain enough experience with it. You'll never lose real money this way.

Of course you can learn a lot with a demo account but you should clearly realize that a demo account can't be identical to a live trading account. In this case the pricing isn't exact. Moreover when dealing with a demo account you aren't exposed to the basic human emotions such as fear and greed as you would when using real money.

Many professional Forex traders warn beginners that demo accounts can be quite dangerous. It's because they can provide beginners with bad habits and as the result they will never be able to trade real accounts. I suppose that there's a bit of truth in this warning. But anyway you can use demo accounts on the initial stage.
