... the world. Here is where the first buildings rose and the architecture of the time was established. They were the cultural center of a community that defined the area. Where the first people migrated to when there was perhaps not much else to be found. From the rooms of many downtown Cleveland hotels, there is often the chance stroll around and learn what made the place happen. Not all places were developed at the same time, or for the same reasons, and when you can take an evening walk you will discover much of the original purpose for the community. Some places are ... lived in. These were places that became the source of sustenance for the growing populations of their culture. Some housed tremendous fishing and shipping operations. They ran close to the shore where the wealth and jobs were created. The nice thing about being able to travel around and staying at downtown Cleveland hotels, is that you can see what remains of the original populations, and the artifacts they left behind. The city centers are treasure troves of information and wonderment.
